I went to Northampton last night to do some improv with a group called Dramaworks which does corporate programs. We did a lot of work that was really familiar to me. Toning, making rhythms with voice, expressing emotions through sound and movement, and retelling a story symbolically with actors doing complete improv to put it together. It was awesome. I haven’t had that much fun in ages. I had several people ask me before I went whether it was worth it to drive two hours each way for the possibility of a part-time job. I told them, yes. Now I say YES! Even if there weren’t the possibility of a job, I’d be there just for the fun of the work. Maybe I’ll bring the ideas back to the circle and share them. They are actually really useful in figuring out where you are emotionally.
On another note, I got a call from LA Weightloss Centers. They got my resume and want me to come in for an interview. The only downside to the job: it serves the South Boston North Rhode Island areas. I know those areas well, but my goal was to get further north to be nearer to Daniel. But if I’m not commuting during the rush hour, I don’t suppose I’d mind much. I like driving (as is evidenced by my recent travels). We’ll see how it goes on Wednesday.
The funny thing about the call-back is that two days ago I sat down with Sam to work on getting rid of the crap that seemed to be in my way around this whole job thing. She helped me put together a manifestation of what I wanted in a job. That manifestation included a lot of different things, but one of them was that it would be good if the job supported my weight-loss goals. Funny huh?
I will be doing a lot of visiting with people in the next few days. Today, I’ll see Josie, tonight I’m spending with Sam. I have other plans for tomorrow and Sunday. No, for those of you who are wondering, I am not spending Valentine’s Day with Daniel. We both believe it to be a made-up holiday with nothing but commercial value, so we are boycotting it. If I had the money, I’d probably be hopping a plane to Baltimore to spend it with my friend who is having an “Anti-VD Bash” at his house. But since I don’t, I’ll just have to live vicariously through his on-line account of it. Well, that’s rather a long update, but I’ve been without a computer for a couple days and will be for a couple more. Thought I’d fill you in all at once. Talk to you Sunday or Monday!
