Walkabout 2002 – If Frustrated, Make Plans

Well, the jobs I’ve been looking at are all being lame about follow-up. The woman with the consulting company thinks she has something for me, we’ll know better tomorrow after her meeting with the company contracting us. The other people have failed to call back at all. No idea what is going on there. Very frustrating.

Add to this that I have had two separate people do readings for me now and both tell me I’m looking in the wrong places. So here’s my plan. I’ve been gifted with some pre-printed tri-fold brochures and printable business cards. I’m going to do up brochures with this stuff and send it out to local business consulting firms saying I am available for contract work for soft-skills training. It’s the same idea the woman from Creative Business has, so why not do it with everyone (especially if she’s not going to keep me busy)? I’ll try it with these brochures and see what happens. Can’t hurt and all it costs is postage.

Tomorrow, I’ll stop in at Jordan’s Furniture on my way home and put in an application. I need something to bring in some cash.

That’s my plan. Tomorrow it may change, but I need something to hold on to. This floating in space is getting to me.

Plus, I need to have some sort of income by the time March 1 rolls around. Otherwise, I’m going to be scrambling to find a place to stay when I have to be out of Sam’s place. No, I’m not panicking, really…
