I finally retrieved the iced coffee from the fridge this morning after taking it home from the diner where Daniel and I went to have dessert on Friday. Mmmm. Iced coffee. I don’t have any milk or cereal and no money to buy either, but who needs food when you have the caffeinated elixir of life?
The Job Search Continues…
I went on an “interview” on Friday that I shouldn’t have. I knew it was a bad idea before I went. I knew it was a worse idea when I got there. But I went anyway. That speaks to how badly I want to be employed right now. I spent the entire day on Friday in the cold, walking door-to-door with another salesperson calling on businesses to get them to change their local phone service to AT&T. At lunch I was still trying to convince myself that I might be able to pull this off as a job. By 3pm, my back had seized, my feet had swelled, and my attitude had deteriorated to the point of surly. So much for that idea. The job sucks anyway. Not to mention the pay. And talk about being overqualified… Shit.
Anyway, so I’m back at it looking on the internet today. Got to get out at some point and mail my unemployment claim so that they can pay me for the first time in a month and a half. Also have to follow up on a resume I faxed last week to a broker in Framingham looking for a manager for his real estate office.
I finally got an email back from the people at the big job interview saying that they were busy with consulting jobs and they’d get back to me when they had time. That’s encouraging. Sort of. They gave me no idea as to when that would be.
I have an appointment to do some improv with a troupe that uses improv as part of their corporate training program next week. It would be a part-time as-needed gig, but really lots of fun. So that’s cool. Plus I have to get back to New Hope this week about running a couple of programs at the Foxboro Middle School starting at the end of the month. So there is potential for income, just not nearly as much as I would like.
Did a ritual for Imbolc last night with Sam. It went well and there was a lot of energy raised for it. We’ll see what comes of it. Sam and I will be doing another one tonight to get the consulting group to get off their ass and get me started. It really would be my ideal job if they would just get around to hiring me. I am soooo ready to be back to work.
On a more fun note, I went out over the weekend for Sam’s birthday party. Sex toy party, dinner at Gregg’s in Providence (rain check on the dessert), and then to The Foxy Lady for my first entrance at a strip club for men. (Seen Chippendale’s show before.) Had a lot of fun, REALLY enjoyed my lap dance, and had a lot of fun watching Daniel get his. That woman really earns her money.
(Update 2014 – Funny story about the Foxy Lady. When you go to the ladies room, you’re in with all the dancers. Of course I wore a corset to the club, so I would fit in. 🙂 When I came out of the stall, one of the dancers who couldn’t have been more than 5’2″ walked up to me, grabbed my breasts and said “Holy Tits! I want these!” I said “Honey, you’d fall over!” “It’d be worth it!” she retorted. Too funny. Oh, and that lap dancer I referenced above? It’s 11 years later and I still remember that her name was Tyrena. THAT’S how good she was.)
Daniel and I have also found some more connection. We had more conversation about things that are important to us. We cleared the air about other things and both acknowledged what seems to be a huge time-shift that occurs within our relationship. (Time moves faster for us than it does for the outside world. We feel like we’ve been together for much longer than time would seem to indicate.) Once again, by addressing our issues and testing our boundaries, we’ve found a closer connection. The energy work was awesome too.
He rocks. We are so good together. I just can’t express it completely, but it’s very good. I am happy.
