Where to begin…. I spent a wonderful week in Colorado. The room was fabulous (two full bedrooms, full kitchen, dining room and living room with TV, VCR and stereo). I cooked meals for myself! I unpacked my bags. Very good. Anyway.
I got a lot of processing done both on my own and with Daniel. You saw the results of some of it in my posts while I was there. Not much done on the book because the computer doesn’t really have a good word processor, so I wanted to wait until I have a better one before I mess with it. I have just found out that I will be needed to puppy-sit for Bill and Amy from 1/2/02-1/12/02, so I should get some good work done then.
Spent a lot of time on the phone with Daniel and I’m really antsy to see him again. Now that I’m back on the road again, it’s worse. I was content to wait the two weeks while I was still in Colorado, but the closer it gets, the harder it is to wait. Sigh. Ah well, it’s only a few more days and I have a lot to do during that time, so it should fly by.
But back to CO. I went to this really cool place in Steamboat Springs called Strawberry Fields Hot Springs. It’s very cool, or hot as the case may be. It has all kinds of pools that are made out of fieldstone and lined with sand. The hot springs which start at 148 degrees are mixed with the runoff from the creek and brought to different temperatures for different pools. There were 9 of us on the tour and we were the only people there. It was snowing and crisp and the water was warm and it was just fabulous. If I hadn’t been turning into a prune, I would never have left. My inner water-girl was fully recharged.
Then it was on to open mike night at Geek’s Garage. I performed a couple of my favorites and a new poem as well. All went over fabulously. I had one of the people in the audience sign my pilgrim’s passport and they thought it was a really neat idea.
Other than that, I spent a lot of time in my room, took a dip in the jacuzzi, and socialized with one of the front desk people when I got lonely. All in all, a good trip. I’m realizing just how good I am at traveling alone. It’s something that you think would be hard, but I find it’s really very easy. I know, duh, I’ve been traveling for how long and I just figured this out? So I’m slow.
Anyway, that’s how Colorado was. I’m now at Keter’s in Cincinnati and we’ve settled in and are planning to cover several topics as well as doing a bunch of social stuff. Sounds like it’s going to be a productive and fun stay. Well, that’s it for the factual review for the day. I’ll update you as it goes…
