Walkabout 2002 – No Internet…Really?

After 9 hours of driving on Tuesday, 6 of it through snow of varying intensities, I arrived, safe and sound in Cincinnati, OH. I spent the evening at Holly’s (who has no email access, hence the lateness of this entry) and now I have moved on to Sandy’s house. Sandy is a friend of Holly and Keter’s and has graciously offered me crash space in her home sight unseen. Fortunately, we have actually gotten along well. (Not that it was any big worry for either of us.) Good news as well, she has given me her old Mac Laptop. Now if I can get my disk to read in it and transfer over my book, all will be well for getting a lot of work done in Colorado. Yay!

On a different note, I made a little extra cash selling some of my jewelry to my aunt and cousin. My other cousin also sent me over a gift. She said in her note that she knew I didn’t use plastic beads in my work, but perhaps I could trade them with someone along the way for stuff I wanted. I opened the bag and in it were TONS of seed beads! Woo hoo!!! I now have the supplies to practice the craft I just learned. VERY COOL!!! This manifestation thing doesn’t suck!

On a stranger note, I went to cash the check that my aunt gave me for the jewelry and the bank required my thumbprint on the front of the check. Weird! I felt like I was living in Gattaca. Even after the woman informed me that it was for my own safety that this was required, I was still a little weirded out by it. What’s next, eye scans at the ATM? Sheesh. We really have become a fear-based society. I have issue with that, but I’m not going to rant here.

I have several back entries to post, but I don’t think this computer will read my disk with them on it, so I’ll have to let you know when I put them up so you can go find them. In the meantime, I’ll check in when I can. I’m confirmed to stay at Crow’s house in Kansas on Friday evening and I have faith that she has email access, at the very least. So hopefully, I’ll check in then. Talk to you later!
