Walkabout 2002 – Maryland and amazing horizon

I’ve arrived in Maryland safe and sound. It took about 8 hours to get here and along the way I saw two really cool sights. The first was the setting sun. I was driving west and it was directly in front of me but shielded by clouds so that it appeared to be fuchsia with wisps of clouds crossing it in a grey/fuchsia. It looked amazing right on the horizon. The clouds opened up directly above it and blue sky shot through with light ending in this pink/blue/grey/white around the edges. It was quite striking. Then, just as I was getting into town, the moon was rising. It sat in roughly the same place (relative to me) on the horizon and was this large red orb. It looked so close to what the sun looked like when it was setting that I had to do a double-take. Very cool.

I got here and was greeted by Bill with a plate full of Thanksgiving food and Amy with an arm full of laundry. Walking into the new apartment and seeing all the accoutrements of the old home was a little odd. Seeing my former piano ensconced here was also strange. But most strange of all was Bill. His whole energy field has changed, he looked really different. I like the change. He seemed a lot happier and more relaxed than I have ever seen him. Seems like Maryland and Amy are good for him.

I have plans to meet with my aunt to do a reading for her this afternoon and I’ll be spending the evening with my cousin. I’ve been informed that the space I have reserved in Cincinnati will not be available until Wednesday, so I’m going to make some calls about finding other space for Tuesday. If I can’t find any, I’ll be staying here for another night in one place or the other (my cousin only lives half an hour from Bill and Amy). I’m hoping to drive to Cincinnati tomorrow since I’m trying to avoid a long commute on the day before Turkey Day. We’ll see what happens.
