OK, I had dinner with Greg and got to meet Kira (just about the cutest kid with the brightest spirit I have ever seen – and you guys know how I feel about kids usually). We watched the end of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory which is one of my favorite movies. Then we got to visit for a while. He’s a cool guy. Didn’t get to make use of the guest bedroom there because Greg’s girlfriend didn’t feel comfortable with someone she didn’t know staying over. So I spent last night at Jeff and Suzie’s who were kind enough to take in a last-minute traveler. Spent the morning with Suzie, a delight as always.
I’m at Michelle’s tonight and we have spent the evening doing beading. She taught me how to seed bead and I made a cool set of firey earrings. Not bad for a first try. I’m glad we got to visit. I really have wanted to get to be better friends with her. We’ve known each other for years through the Renaissance Faire scenes, but we haven’t had much time to really sit and talk although we’ve both been saying for years that we want to. Some girlfriend time is always good to have.
Tomorrow, it’s back to Dragonfly to repack the car and all my suitcases (must rig for winter) and then head out to a party in Winchendon, wherever that is. (Update 2013 – About two months ago, I started casually dating a man that I met on OKCupid – at least that’s where I thought we met. He said that he knew me through Daniel – the one referenced here. And once I placed his face – I had thought he looked familiar but I hadn’t seen him in 10 years – I realized that I had actually been to a party at his house at some point but I couldn’t remember when or why. Now I see that it was while I was on walkabout all those years ago. Yes, the party referenced above was at his house. Funny how life rolls around in circles.)
After spending the night there, I’m on to Maryland on Sunday. I’ll be stopping in at Peter’s to drop off extraneous stuff that I decided I don’t need after the repack (and hopefully for a short visit if he’s around). Then onto lunch in Providence with a new online friend. Then, on the road to Maryland to stay at Bill’s for the evening. I’m touching base with my aunt about doing the reading she had requested on Monday. I’ll have to see what happens with that. Then, I’m heading to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving and then on to Colorado afterwards.
As a continuing reference to my last post, I have been gifted with a 6-month paid membership with Livejournal. What this means is that I now have the ability to offer out LJ codes for those of you who would like to have access to the friends-only posts, but don’t have an LJ account. Contact me via email at [defunct email] for a code if you need one. I’ll get this stuff up and running shortly.
Still working on the photos thing. I have gotten multiple offers of hosting space for the pics, so I should have them up and ready for viewing shortly. I’ll post when they’re ready. Since I’m travelling for the next few days, it may take a little while, but I’ll get there, really.
