Walkabout 2002 – Heading North

I am heading up to Lowell again for the evening. I am hoping to touch base with Michelle and possibly get that class she offered me on seed beading and the extra beads she was going to give me. I’d like to have a new craft to do. Something portable.

I’m feeling the need to get back on the road. I’m getting that stuck feeling again (just as I was afraid of when I came back up here). I’ve already been here too long, but I’m having a hard time getting out on the road again. Andrew offered to set me up with a friend of his who is a priest in Piqua, (in some midwest state), so I’m waiting to hear back on that one.

I wrote to Dan Simmons today (author of the Hyperion novels I’ve been reading – fabulous books BTW) to see if I could stop in for a visit while I’m in Colorado. Next I have to get in touch with the Naropa people who are in Boulder, just down the road from him. I’m going to see if they can work out a guest-lecturer thing for me (preferably with lodging since it is winter now).

BTW, for those aspiring writers out there who are interested, Dan Simmons is having a workshop at his home next year. It’s only $500 per person and he lives right next to the mountains with hiking and stuff, so it sounds idea for some of you out there. Ken, for instance, would love it….

So that’s about it for now. Still on the hunt for the wild laptop. Also looking for squishable down-filled slippers (or any warm slippers that don’t take up too much room). Talk to you later!
