I got my mother’s time share in Steamboat Springs Colorado for November 30 – December 7. It’s at a ski resort and promises to be great fun. So here’s your chance. You can support my journey AND get a great cheap vacation by coming and sharing the room with me. It sleeps six people and should be very nice if the last time share I spent with this group is any indicator. (I’m hoping for a jacuzzi personally.) For $150 per person you can share the week with me in lovely Steamboat Springs. It’s about $25/night, which is a great deal all around. Plus, you get the pleasure of my company. What do you think? If you’d like to go, then email me at ksparta@hotmail.com. (Update 2013 – Clearly I had forgotten my request to have a week to myself. Thankfully, spirit hadn’t. No one came. )
I’m in Groton, CT for the rest of the week and through the weekend. I may head up to Maine after that if the laptop that several people are trying to track down for me comes through. Ludwig needs the place winterized and I could use some private time. In the meantime, I’m here and I’ll be working on my book(s) as I go.
For those of you interested, I got a robe today to replace the old one that was my ex-husband’s (yay!) and it’s lighter too which is just another bonus. Ludwig also bought me a birthday/Christmas present of a new purse that is leather and a backpack style, so i don’t have to keep leaving my purse behind when I go walking places. It’s very cool.
I went to this personality test via inkblot web site at [defunct site] and got this result
“Kelle, your unconscious mind is driven most by Peace
You are driven by a higher purpose than most people. You have a deeply-rooted desire to facilitate peacefulness in the world. Whether through subtle interactions with love ones, or through getting involved in social causes, it is important to you to influence the world.
You are driven by a desire to encourage others to think about the positive side of things instead of focusing on the negative. The reason your unconscious is consumed by this might stem from an innate fear of war and turmoil. Thus, to avoid that uncomfortable place for you, your unconscious seeks out the peace in your environment.
Usually, the thing that underlies this unconscious drive is a deep respect for humankind. You care about the future of the world, even beyond your own involvement in it. As a result, your personal integrity acts as a surrogate for your deeper drive toward peace and guides you in daily life towards decisions that are respectful toward yourself and others.
Though your unconscious mind is driven most strongly by Peace, there is much more to who you are at your core.”
(Update 2013 – This site was more accurate than I was willing to admit. At the time of the writing of this blog, my entire sense of self worth was built around what I could do for others. Thus, if people were unhappy with me, it felt like I was going to die. That’s a bit of a motivator to keep the peace, I’d say. I’m still all for peace – because one of my highest values is connection – but now it comes behind integrity and transparent authenticity for me.)
Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway that’s it for now. I’ll check in later!!
