This was written yesterday…
This morning I took a break from packing the car and sat down on the stoop in the cool, crisp morning air. I looked out over the row-house complex that my cousin lives in and admired the adolescent trees’ leaves that were turning their shades of reds, golds, and browns. I breathed in the cool, moist air and watched as the dense gray clouds shifted and swirled in the sky, appreciating the song of the birds in the silence that is the hallmark of a white-collar suburban neighborhood at 10am on a Monday morning. After a few minutes, the sound of the birds chirping was joined by the subtle drumbeat of raindrops lightly falling to pavement. I shifted my focus to the sidewalk in front of me and watched as the drops slowly darkened the cement in random patterns. The drops thickened and gradually began to fill in the empty spots. It was several minutes from the time I first heard the rain until I felt the first drop on my arm. Even after the rain was falling, spotty but steady, I sat staring at those drops on the pavement. Finally, I retreated back into the house, but not before most of the pavement was saturated with the only dry spots remaining right around the edges of the raised walkway. I closed the door smiling, feeling I had a better understanding of the process of discovery I have embarked upon.
And now for today’s entry….
I asked to live a magickal life… I have arranged to stay with Sandi (Chuck’s cousin) and Chris in Framingham for the next few days. I had thought that I would go to Salem after fnoxib’s housewarming party, but Midnight and Jeff had plans(conveniently enough for me – you’ll see why in a minute), so I’ll be seeing them on Sunday. Saturday, it seems, my old circle is having a party on the cape and they are having a disbanding ritual so that they can reform again in a new format. I had been looking for a sawain ritual to do my work on leaving the area and I had thought strongly that I would need to visit Tracy’s house on theCape(which is where the ritual is being held),so it all works out, as usual. Very cool. So, my plans are not completely made yet, but many of them are set now. I’m not sure how long I’ll be staying, probably until mid-week next week. Then heading west. Should be interesting. Seems there is a gather in Cleveland on the 15th for Starwood. I’m thinking about attending. I was planning on going to see Jamie in Akron anyway, so I’ll be right in the neighborhood. That’s it for the updates for today. I’ll catch you all later!
