Walkabout 2002 – Writing and remodeling

Well I’ve agreed to help Melissa with getting her house ready to sell. It will be good to have a short-term goal that I can really see the results of. I’m going to be laying down the laminate tile floor in her bathroom and basement. I’m also going to help her convert a pair of sheets to use as curtains for her living room. Should be fun.

On another note, I am getting a lot of work done on the booklet that Caroline suggested I write. I’ve taken the basics of my self esteem and empowerment course and combined it with an overview of the process of change to create what is turning out to be quite a few pages of information. I got through two chapters today and managed to figure out the formatting to add a table of contents and page numbers. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get Word to print out in booklet format like WordPerfect did. Anyone out there know how to make this happen on Word?

I’ve got another two chapters of information to finish before I feel like the first draft is complete. It looks like it’s going to end up being about 50 pages in booklet format which is about 25 regular pages. It’s funny how fast they spin out onto paper. I’ve taught these classes for so long that it’s second nature to put this stuff into concise words. I never expected it to be this long or to have this much to it, but I guess I had more to say than I thought. Plus, there’s two more levels to this information that I can do the next booklets on. I’m really excited about it.

Once I have it all together, I’m going to send it off to a publisher to see if I can get it printed. It would be very nice to actually have something in print so that I don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time I teach a class. If I can’t get it published, at least I’ll have it in paper format to give to my students as we work together. But let’s hope for the best here. Melissa is reading it for me and she likes it. I’ll pass it along to some other of my current students for comments and revisions before I send it in. Well, now I’m just babbling. So I’ll sign off here. (Update 2013 – this booklet became the eBook – Bring It On!  Accelerated Growth for Spiritual Adventurers so if you want to know what I wrote, you can read it for yourself – plus the additional 45 pages that I’ve added since.  I never got around to submitting it to a publisher.  Perhaps next year.  But I doubt it. I keep updating it and adding new info.  If I printed it, I couldn’t change it.)
