Well it’s official (as soon as I call Mom). I’m going to stay here for the week and attend Heartsong at Brushwood this weekend. I will be leaving for WI after this weekend and plan on staying there for the week and a half between events. I’m going to come back early for Thing in the Woods, so I can get some alone time and some hiking in. The last weekend of the month will be Thing in the Woods and then who knows where I’m off to from there. I certainly don’t. I’m thinking of going back down to Indiana, but I’ve also got a feeling that someone may be showing up to Thing that will take me in another direction. I don’t feel it as strongly as I did with Starwood and perhaps that’s because this person hasn’t decided for sure that they’re going or not. Whatever, it will work out the way that it’s supposed to. If I get no invitations, then I will head to Indiana. I will keep you updated on what happens as I can. I will be in and out of email access over the next few weekends because I’ll be on the campground site, so I’ll be checking in as possible.
Nothing new to report here. I’m hanging out and spending some much needed down-time reading. I forgot how much fun it is to read a book for pleasure. I haven’t really done this in a year or so. I read a lot, but mostly it’s for educational purposes. This book series (Hyperion by Dan Simmons) is reading for fun, but, as is usually the case even when I don’t try, it has relevant echoes for me. It centers around a pilgrimage. While I am hoping that the nature of my pilgrimage is not as hopeless as the characters’ seem to be, it does have interesting parallels which I am sure I am missing all sorts of levels of meaning on even now. I expect to read these books again in another ten years or so and see what the perspective is then. Should be interesting.
Well that’s it for today. I’m off to get something to eat and take a shower (not necessarily in that order).
