Walkabout 2002 – Change in Plans

You Want Me To Do What?!!?As expected, things change. We had a lovely dinner with Andrew last night and I have been invited to come and spend the weekend with him and so that’s what I am doing. Turns out that Andrew has also been a pilgrim walking the Camino in Spain a little while ago, so he has all sorts of useful information for me. Plus he’s a really cool guy all around. (Meeting cool people seems to be a theme of this trip.) So I’ll be in Pomfret, CT for the weekend unless Mark finally returns my email and says he wants to see me in which case I’ll be in Enfield for part of the time.

Funny enough, Andrew says he plans to hit a Ren Faire in Newport, so I may end up seeing Jeff and Suzie again after all. (Funny how these things work out. I knew I picked up my Ren Costume at Ann’s house for a reason.)

Anyway, I’m happy at this change in plans since I hadn’t really felt called to go to the game with Chuck. Not that I don’t want to meet the people, just that it wasn’t really part of my journey. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with Andrew, he’s got great energy. (Note to circle members, this guy would be a great addition to the group.) Plus he went to seminary and that means the philosophical conversations rock.

Anyway, I’ll be dropping Chuck off in Torrington and heading back up to Pomfret. Then I’ll pick him up again on Tuesday in Danbury. We’ll stop by and visit Molly in Fairfield and then head into NYC. I’ve found a drum circle that meets on the 8th in Staten Island so we’re planning on going there. If anyone in NYC is reading this (or knows someone there they can hook us up with), email me and let me know. I’m going where the winds take me and I’m looking to meet new people along the way. I wish I had Danny’s phone number from Twilight Covening last year. I know she lives in NYC and I’d love to see her again, but alas, I have no way of contacting her.

Well, I have to head out for now to get packed and ready to go. I’ll check in in a day or two. Talk to you later!
